Cohasset Affordable Housing Trust advances RFP for 39 Mill Lane and explores 40R zoning. The four-member Trust voted unanimously to develop a request for proposals for the 39 Mill Lane property, which cannot be developed under current zoning due to its 14,500-square-foot size versus the 35,000-square-foot district minimum. The Trust also discussed 40R Smart Growth Overlay zoning to enable higher-density affordable housing near downtown and transportation, requiring 20 percent affordable units preserved for at least 30 years.
The Trust plans to partner with the Affordable Housing Steering Committee to present the 40R concept to the Select Board.
