COHASSET — Alternative Energy Subcommittee approves prior meeting minutes, advances solar planning. The Cohasset committee unanimously approved prior meeting minutes and discussed the solar array request for proposals for the school campus, with Chair Tanya Bodell outlining the objective to establish a standalone microgrid incorporating solar panels, backup generation, and battery storage to maintain campus operations during power outages. Committee member Doran Hole recommended including battery and microgrid capability statements in the RFP.

Five qualified solar developers are on the candidate list. Town Planner Cassandra Thayer reported that National Grid has placed a temporary hold on new solar developments in Cohasset due to an ongoing cluster analysis.
