Board of Health approves septic system upgrade at 53 Beechwood Street.

COHASSET — Board of Public Health approves nitrogen-reducing septic system for 53 Beechwood Street. Michael Joyce of Joyce Consulting Group presented a design for a new 1500-gallon septic tank and leaching field to serve a three-bedroom single-family dwelling at the property, with the system located within 400 feet of Mealy Pond, a nitrogen-sensitive area. The board unanimously approved the plan with conditions requiring deed restrictions for the I/A Technology system, an Operations and Maintenance contract, a septic As-Built, and decommissioning of the existing system.
Public Health Nurse Joan Taverna reported on ongoing Director of Public Health hiring interviews, limited flu vaccine supply, food permits, and investigation of communicable disease cases including Campylobacter, Norovirus, and C-Difficile.
