Cohasset Adopts $44 Million Fiscal 2015 Operating Budget

Cohasset sets fiscal 2015 budget at $44.1 million by two-thirds vote. At the April 28 annual meeting, the town appropriated funds drawn from water and sewer enterprise revenues, capital stabilization transfers, and $36.5 million in tax levy revenue, with additional approvals for $1.3 million in stabilization deposits, $944,332 for capital improvements, and $100,000 for facilities projects. The town established sewer district maximum capacities: 450,000 gallons per day for Central Cohasset and 80,000 for North Cohasset.
Zoning bylaws were amended to authorize registered marijuana dispensaries in Technology Business districts only by special permit. Petitioned articles proposing a governance committee and conflict of interest rules for selectmen were defeated by hand count votes of 46-75 and 75-defeated.
