Cohasset approves $52.2 million FY20 budget and harbor zoning

Cohasset town meeting approves $52.2 million FY20 budget with harbor zoning changes. Voters unanimously backed the $52,225,940 operating budget, with $44.5 million raised from taxation and the remainder from enterprise fund transfers and stabilization accounts. The town also adopted the Harbor Village Business Overlay District zoning amendment, allowing mixed-use development including multifamily housing, retail, and restaurants on waterfront parcels at heights up to 35 feet.

The meeting additionally approved $2.3 million in capital improvements as amended, $645,093 in Community Preservation Committee appropriations, and $222,096 for sewer system grinder pump replacement.
