Cohasset Conservation Commission approves Atlantic Avenue residential redevelopment despite chairman's concerns. The Commission voted 3-1 to issue an Order of Conditions and two variances for property owner Michael Ryan's project at 159 Atlantic Avenue, which proposes demolishing an existing home and building a new residence with pool and stormwater systems within buffer zones and coastal flowage areas. Chair Chris McIntyre voted against the approvals, stating that replacing impervious surfaces with permeable materials does not automatically satisfy the Wetlands Protection Act's no-adverse-impact standard.
The Commission unanimously approved the project's Stormwater Permit 25-18, and all Commissioners unanimously approved a partial Certificate of Compliance releasing 40 Beechwood Street from a 2005 Order of Conditions.
