COHASSET — Harbor Committee sets 2026 priorities with focus on climate resilience. Chair George Baumgarten led the committee to unanimously adopt a four-part agenda emphasizing harbor resilience, commercial fishing fleet support through a planned conveyor system at Government Wharf, and major waterfront improvements including a Captains' Walk design project and harbormaster office reconstruction. The committee discussed a $1.7 million upgrade needed for the wastewater treatment plant to elevate critical infrastructure above flood plain, critical given recent severe rain events have caused flooding in vulnerable areas on Blackhorse Street and Summer Street.
Cohasset's fleet landed 234,000 pounds of lobster last year.
