Cohasset Harbor Committee · Meeting of March 11, 2026
Cohasset Harbor Committee votes six to zero to support Scituate intermunicipal agreement. The committee approved the five-year pact with one member abstaining, clarifying harbor management, mooring rights, and oyster farm operations. The agreement eliminates duplicate mooring excise tax payments and uncertainty about wait-list placement while designating the Cohasset Harbormaster as the primary marine safety provider.
Scituate oyster farmers must hold Cohasset harmless for wastewater discharge and maintain liability insurance. The agreement permits three current one-acre aquaculture licenses and expansion to six acres, with provisions requiring three months' notice and good-faith discussion for any expansion beyond six acres.
