Cohasset Harbor Committee · Meeting of May 13, 2026
Cohasset Harbor Committee votes unanimously to make water quality a formal priority. Eight members acted following presentations on Gulf River bacteria levels that frequently exceeded safe limits over the last two summers, causing Bassing Beach closures. Conservation Agent Charlotte Pechtel presented the CZM-funded Gulf River Estuary Comprehensive Restoration Plan, a partnership with Scituate to address climate change and sea-level rise.
Commercial updates: the Salt House opens mid-June with year-round operations, and the Cohasset Wharf project phase two requires a full rebuild due to utility and rot issues, expected ready in 12 to 14 months.
