William Edward Broderick, 98, of Cohasset and Scituate, died Monday, August 17, 2026, at Cardigan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Scituate. He was born in Somerville and settled in Cohasset, where he and his wife, Rita, raised their two sons. He was a World War II Naval veteran who served on an LSM in the Pacific, and he served as a Metropolitan District Commission/Massachusetts State Police officer for more than 30 years. Services are scheduled for Tuesday, August 25, 2026: visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home in Cohasset, a Mass from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at St. Anthony's Church in Cohasset, and burial from 12:15 to 12:30 p.m. at Cohasset Central Cemetery. George Kostas Roukounakis, 75, of Cohasset, died Tuesday, August 18, 2026, following a prolonged illness. He had lived in Cohasset for 48 years and operated the Olympic Texaco/Citgo gas station in Cohasset Village for 35 years. Services are scheduled for Wednesday, August 26, 2026: visitation from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at Panagia Greek Orthodox Church, a funeral service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Panagia Greek Orthodox Church (811 Jerusalem Road, Cohasset), and interment from 11:15 to 11:45 a.m. at Cohasset Central Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society per the family's wishes.
