Open Space and Recreation Committee approves Nature for All coalition support
Open Space and Recreation Committee · Meeting of January 20, 2026
COHASSET — Open Space and Recreation Committee unanimously endorses Nature for Massachusetts Coalition support. The nine-member panel, chaired by Ginny LeClair, voted to back legislation that would generate $100 million in conservation and recreation revenue. The committee also reviewed progress on its open space plan, due April 30, with chapters on introduction and environmental inventory issued January 12.
Committee members proposed using local newspapers, social media, and a community center board for public outreach during the March-release 30-day review period. LeClair reported she awaits updates on cell tower policy and the Wheelwright property land transfer and said the committee may submit a citizen petition by the February 18 deadline.
