COHASSET — Open Space committee advances three conservation restrictions. The Open Space and Recreation Committee voted unanimously 10-0 to initiate conservation restrictions on 15 acres at 210 Sohier St., two one-acre parcels off Beach St., and Wheelwright Park, after citizen Jeff Waal presented the 210 Sohier St. property as critical to protecting Peppermint Brook, a tributary to Lily Pond, and wildlife corridors. Chair Ginny LeClair will incorporate the parcels into the 10-year Open Space Plan.
On the Wheelwright Park cell tower, the committee received Town Counsel guidance on petition language and legal exposure from terminating the Edge Towers II, LLC contract but deferred final action pending Conservation Commission feedback and a meeting with Town Moderator Dan Evans.
