School Committee adjourns budget vote after discovering flawed public notice.

School Committee · Meeting of March 25, 2026

Cohasset School Committee adjourned its special meeting without voting on the FY27 budget after discovering faulty Zoom access information had been publicly distributed. Superintendent Dr. Sarah Shannon presented a final budget of approximately $26 million, a 4.83 percent increase over FY26 that included a modest late-stage funding boost, reducing but not eliminating a near-$1 million level-service deficit.

Committee Vice Chair Craig MacLellan raised concerns that proceeding with the vote under flawed meeting-access conditions would violate proper public notice requirements; member Corey D. Evans agreed. All five committee members present voted unanimously to adjourn and reconvene at a later properly scheduled date.
