School Committee · Meeting of February 25, 2026

Cohasset School Committee approves 2026-2027 calendar, accepting Good Friday as half day. The Committee unanimously backed the third and final reading after deliberating attendance patterns and religious equity concerns. Superintendent Dr.

Sarah Shannon reported the district recovered from severe weather that extended the tentative last day of school to June 25, 2026. The Committee accepted $1,121.25 in gifts from the Parent School Organization and discussed an updated FY27 budget facing severe fiscal pressures from special education, transportation, and utility costs; Dr. Shannon outlined likely staffing reductions, with middle school English Language Arts and Math teachers serving approximately 100-105 students per grade level under the proposed model, up from the current fourteen to fifteen students, rising to twenty to twenty-one students per section.
