School Committee · Meeting of March 18, 2026
COHASSET — School Committee holds public hearing on Fiscal Year 2027 budget as FY26 vote looms. Superintendent Dr. Sarah Shannon presented a spending plan with a 4.99 percent increase over FY26 that still leaves a remaining structural deficit of approximately $1 million.
Chair Jennifer Lesky, Vice Chair Craig MacLellan, and members Corey D. Evans and interim Jacob Squatrito heard six residents express concerns about proposed Pre-K reductions, athletics cuts, co-op sports programs, and the district's long-term capital projects. Chair Lesky confirmed the Committee is actively considering a future operational override for long-term sustainability.
The Committee is scheduled to vote on the FY27 budget on March 25, 2026.
