Scituate Housing Authority takes over Cohasset Housing management

Affordable Housing Steering Committee · Meeting of January 20, 2026

COHASSET — Scituate Housing Authority assumes Cohasset Housing management. The Affordable Housing Steering Committee confirmed that the management transition, effective January 1 under a two-year agreement, will retain current town employees with cross-training. The committee discussed 40R housing development potential on roughly 20 acres of town land behind the Music Circus and at the end of Evergreen Ln, a process estimated to take five years.

The town's Housing Production Plan, last reviewed in 2017, is overdue for updating to ensure the town meets affordable housing goals. The Housing Authority reported 3,500 people on the waiting list for Cohasset units.
