Cohasset Select Board approves road race permits and appoints public safety advisors. The board unanimously approved permits for the Cohasset Rotary Club's Road Race by the Sea and Safe Harbor Walk, scheduled for Sunday, April 12, 2026, and appointed eight citizens to the Public Safety Facilities Committee. Police Chief Quigley reported staffing at 19 of 21 authorized positions, leaving only 14 uniformed officers to cover three daily shifts; calls for service rose 38.2 percent in 2025.
Fire Chief Dockray requested a FY27 budget of $3,694,656 and $1.2 million in capital funds to replace Engine 3 (2001 model). The FY27 preliminary capital plan totals $4.2 million in requests against $2.3 million allocated.
