Cohasset town meeting approves $34.7 million budget for fiscal 2011. Voters unanimously approved the operating budget of $34,791,820, including $32.1 million raised from taxation and $2.3 million from sewer revenue. The meeting also acted on Community Preservation Committee recommendations, appropriating approximately $570,805 for land acquisition, building restorations, pond improvements, and housing authority upgrades.
Voters accepted motor vehicle tax deferment for active service veterans, adopted dog nuisance abatement bylaws with fines ranging from $25 to $50, set the sewer betterments interest rate at 2.25 percent, and voted to place a debt exclusion override question on the ballot for Little Harbor and Jerusalem Road Sewer District projects.
