Town Meeting approves $37.8 million FY10 operating budget unanimously.

Cohasset approves $37.8 million Fiscal 2010 operating budget in unanimous vote. The Annual Town Meeting on March 28 authorized the appropriation including $14,713,000 for Cohasset Schools and $75,529 for South Shore VocTech assessment, with funding sourced from $31.4 million in taxation plus transfers from water revenue, sewer revenue, and stabilization funds. The meeting also unanimously approved $348,324.53 for the Capital Stabilization Fund, $789,400 in capital projects including a $360,000 fire rescue pumper, and a $20,000 deposit to the post-retirement health insurance liability fund.

Water rates were amended effective July 1, while voters defeated a $7,000 zoning map update but approved a $7,000 subdivision rules revision and authorized acquisition of property at 89 Sohier Street for senior center development.
