Water Commission reorganizes; approves water-main abatement and pilot study for treatment plant.

COHASSET — Water Commission reorganizes and approves abatements totaling over $9,200. Christopher E. Pratt was elected Vice Chair, Stephen M.

Girardi Chair, and Leonora C. Jenkins Clerk, all unanimously. The board approved a $6,776.85 abatement for a winter spigot failure at 80 Nichols Road (Pratt moved; Jenkins opposed; motion carried) and a $2,478.45 abatement for a burst pipe at 47 Norfolk Road (approved unanimously).

In separate action, the commission advanced a $1.99 million two-season pilot study to evaluate treatment alternatives for a new water plant, with results expected by May 2028 and potential plant operation by 2031.
