Cohasset Board of Public Health approves septic system variances, designates health agent. The Board, led by Chair Dr. Paul Schubert with members Mary Goodwin and Marcia Lewis, unanimously approved two variances for 212 South Main Street to allow a new 1500-gallon septic system for a 4-bedroom house that failed Title 5 inspection.
The variances reduced required setbacks from 10 feet to 4 feet for tank to foundation wall and from 50 feet to 29 feet for system component to bordering vegetative wetland. Nicole Balaschi was unanimously designated as the Board's Public Health Agent, and the Board voted to pursue formal farmer's market regulations before the June 4 opening of the season.
