Select Board seats Village Parking Task Force, previews town meeting warrant
Select Board · Meeting of September 15, 2026
Cohasset Select Board fills a new Village Parking Task Force and previews an $8 million fall warrant. Members unanimously appointed Karen Dwyer, Timothy Davis, Doug McGregor, Joshua Kimball, Kevin Cronin and Chair David Farrag to the seven-seat panel meant to address village parking shortages merchants say are driving away customers. The board also recommended $8 million for a water treatment lagoon, $2 million for a related pilot plant, and $300,000 for the Route 3A water main, all 5-0, while holding a $232,000 emergency phone-system replacement for an Advisory Committee vote.
Deputy CIO Dan Kelly said the current system's manufacturer abruptly moved its end-of-life date up from 2029 to 2026, causing middle-of-the-night outages: "So why pay a premium when we can get a better system for cheaper money." The board also recommended $140,000 for Pratt Building repairs and $150,000 for parking lot engineering, and held votes on zoning definitions and a surveillance oversight petition for September 22.
