Sewer Commission schedules phased replacement of failing treatment plant equipment

Sewer Commission · Meeting of June 11, 2026

COHASSET — Sewer Commission plans phased replacement of critical failing treatment plant membrane equipment. Chair William McGowan and the commission discussed failing membranes that are producing only 70 gallons per minute against a required 200, citing correspondence with the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection. New membranes will arrive July 20, with actuator and valve replacements on side 1 scheduled for completion by the end of July and side 2 by Labor Day.

Flow will be diverted to Hull for at least six months while repairs proceed.
