Cohasset Select Board unanimously approves MBTA Route 714 fixed bus stop and new alternative town logo. The board voted 5-0 on both items at its January 27 virtual meeting, with MBTA Director of Alternative Service Planning Alexander Anhwere-James and Director of Government Affairs Cameron Doherty presenting the Bus Stop Safety and Accessibility Project, which will install one fixed stop in Cohasset on Nantasket Avenue at Eastman Road as part of 23 pairs of stops across Cohasset, Hingham, and Hull — 42 of them in Hull, which is contributing $130,000 to construction. Two residents, including Mr.

Tarpey and Alicia Babcock of 9 Eldridge Lane, urged the board to redirect the stop to Hull, citing fear of unintended housing-law consequences, but Doherty told the board the installation "would not change your legal standing." Kevin Perry, working with Interim Town Manager Michelle Leary and HR Director Meaghan James, won approval for a new alternative logo to replace the town seal on everyday communications at no additional cost. Leary reported the fireworks 501(c)(3) is in legal review, with a fundraising target of $75,000 needed for a cost-neutral July Fourth event.
