Cohasset Select Board reorganizes, then grapples with a rejected police station vote. Members unanimously elected David Farrag chair, Ellen Maher vice chair and William Ashton clerk in the post-election reorganization, then voted 5-0 to enter executive session to negotiate Town Manager Leary's contract. Police union president Chase Colicerto told the board the department's current 62 Elm Street facility is "no longer capable of supporting the safe and effective operations" of a modern department, days after voters rejected a new $21.7 million police station on King Street.
Town Accountant Bethany Mosley reported ambulance revenue running about $95,000 behind last year's pace through April, with a snow-and-ice deficit near $331,000. Public Safety Facilities Committee member Dan Tarpey urged the board to give the committee "a more definitive direction" rather than continue open-ended outreach on King Street's future.
