Cohasset Select Board unanimously hires Municipal Resources Inc. for town manager search

COHASSET — January 6, 2026 — Cohasset Select Board unanimously hired Municipal Resources Inc. to conduct the town's search for a new town manager at its January 6 meeting. Chair Ellen Marr and members Paul Grady, David Farag, and Julie Rollins interviewed MRI representatives Bob Preece and Buzz alongside Mary Flanders-Ikarty of the UMass Collins Center before polling members individually — all four chose MRI, with Rollins praising its "multi-layer checks" and regional candidate reach. The board also unanimously reaffirmed a pilot program to sell 150 out-of-town refuse transfer facility stickers at $300 each starting January 23, projecting a net gain of $51,300. In a late-agenda briefing, Water Commission Chair Chris Pratt and Woodard and Curran engineers disclosed that Cohasset's water supply has been in regulatory exceedance for TTHM disinfection byproducts since the third quarter of 2025, with a compliance plan due to Mass DEP by March; the town separately received $273,000 from a PFAS class action settlement against DuPont and 3M, a fraction of the multimillion-dollar plant modernization the commission says will be required over the next decade.
