Committee evaluates solar bid, launches decarbonization planning

Alternative Energy Sources Committee · Meeting of June 11, 2026

COHASSET — Solar procurement advances with first bid under evaluation. The Alternative Energy Committee's Evaluation Committee met with the bidder on June 11 and identified three areas requiring resolution: tax credit eligibility, technical compatibility of racking installation, and review of projected benefits, with updates planned for the Select Board and School Committee. The committee also launched municipal decarbonization planning, assigning Debbie Cook and Barbara Russell to develop a process over the summer and determine whether to pursue a technical-assistance grant for a net-zero emissions plan.

Chair Tanya Bodell offered support through data analysis and flow diagrams.
