Select Board approves ticket stacking, housing rental conversion

Cohasset Select Board · Meeting of January 20, 2026

Cohasset Select Board approves parking enforcement change and rental housing conversion. Chair Ellen Maher's board unanimously approved ticket stacking (allowing officers to issue up to three citations every two hours per vehicle) and voted to convert four units at 1 Pleasant Street from affordable ownership to rental housing. Interim Town Manager Michelle Leary warned the town and schools face combined $2.4 million shortfalls for FY27, driven by 14 percent health insurance increases; a proposed new health plan could save $400,000.

The board authorized a Town Manager search committee with applications due January 31 and will present a joint budget February 10.
