Cohasset Sewer Commission approves deferral applications

Sewer Commission · Meeting of July 9, 2026

Cohasset Sewer Commission votes 3-0-0 to approve fiscal 2026 deferrals for four properties totaling $2,356.51 in deferred water charges. Vice Chair Paul Kierce noted the rate study must close by end of August to allow September publication and inform funding decisions for facility upgrades. Operations processed 240,000 gallons daily and remain stable despite recent heavy rain.

However, the Ardent manufacturer delayed the grit removal tank from August to April 2027 due to an ERP system change; the Commission will explore liquidated damages and interim solutions. Town Manager Michelle Leary will investigate why 32 Atlantic Avenue, connected in 2019, was never billed.
