Cohasset Select Board · Meeting of September 8, 2026
Cohasset Select Board approves revised police facility, lowering cost to $20.9 million. The Board unanimously backed the Public Safety Facilities Committee's scaled design, reducing the footprint by 4,364 square feet and eliminating a planned future Fire Department substation while retaining three police garage bays and 47 parking spaces. Chair David Farrag, Vice Chair Ellen Maher, Clerk William Ashton, and Members Paul L.
Grady, Jr., and Gregory Watts voted unanimously to schedule a special election for December 5, 2026. On citizens petitions, the Board voted 3-2 to recommend repealing the town's single-use plastic water bottle ban, but failed 2-3 on a proposed noise control bylaw. The Board deferred action on a Surveillance Technology Oversight Bylaw pending input from the Advisory Committee.
