Sidewalk Committee Outlines FY 2027 Paving Plan with New Town Engineer

Sidewalk Committee · Meeting of September 17, 2026

Cohasset Sidewalk Committee plans FY 2027 improvements with newly hired town engineer. The committee unanimously approved prior meeting minutes and welcomed Town Engineer J.R. Frey, whose background includes securing a $1 million grant for a Hingham roundabout and signals intent to pursue state funding for Cohasset.

Current paving projects include Forest Avenue, scheduled for late September or early October completion, and North Main Street, delayed by water main expansion from 600 to 1,000 feet. The committee discussed repainting 240 bicycle sharrows and installing Rapid Rectangular Flashing Beacons at busy crosswalks at $30,000 per location.
