Board of Health adopts Farmers Market Regulations

Board of Health · Meeting of July 21, 2026

Cohasset Board of Health adopted new Farmers Market Regulations following a public hearing on July 21, with a unanimous vote. The board previously operated under Hanover's temporary regulations but needed its own standards for vendors selling microgreens and time/temperature control foods, according to Health Agent Nicole Balaschi. The October 31 effective date avoids disrupting the current market season.

The board also unanimously approved a geothermal well system at 26 Lamberts Lane and a septic system upgrade at 179 South Main Street with two required variances; it deferred an application for new septic systems at 502-506 North Main Street to August.
