Capital Budget Committee · Meeting of August 24, 2026

Cohasset Capital Budget Committee approves police and fire upgrades. The committee unanimously approved replacement of the Police Department's 38 SIG Sauer P320 handguns with Glocks for up to $45,000, accelerating the purchase over national safety concerns; the Police Union Safety Committee had raised concerns. Chief William Quigley also won approval for a $31,705 fingerprint scanner required for FBI database identification.

Fire Chief John Dockray secured $49,356.82 for replacement of the department's 25-year-old Z-Tron station alerting system, which has experienced persistent static issues.
