Committee eliminates Elm Street site, commits to 135 King Street facility

Public Safety Facilities Committee · Meeting of July 15, 2026

COHASSET — Public Safety Committee formally redirects police and fire facility focus from Elm Street. The Public Safety Facilities Committee agreed to request a spot on the Select Board's July 28 agenda to formally eliminate the Elm Street property from consideration. Chair Glenn Pratt determined the site's maximum buildable area of 17,000 square feet cannot meet the police and fire departments' combined need for 32,652 square feet.

The committee will refocus its efforts on the 135 King Street location.
