Committee abandons Elm Street as site for police-fire facility

Public Safety Facilities Committee · Meeting of July 28, 2026

Cohasset public safety committee abandons Elm Street site for combined station. The Public Safety Facilities Committee voted unanimously to remove the Elm Street location from consideration for a combined police and fire facility, finding that even a reduced program exceeds available space and zoning constraints. Project Manager Dan Pallotta noted that multi-story construction would cost over five million dollars in temporary relocation expenses.

The committee will focus on the 135 King Street site, with the original design offering 48 parking spaces emerging as the preferred option.
