Planning Board recommends three zoning bylaw amendments to Town Meeting

Planning Board · Meeting of September 2, 2026

Cohasset Planning Board votes unanimously to advance three zoning bylaw amendments to October Town Meeting. The board voted 5-0 to recommend Articles PB1, PB2, and PB3, which clarify definitions of accessory structures to address setback enforcement for fences and pools, remove outdated solar overlay provisions at the recommendation of Conservation and Recreation, and update the Table of Dimensional Regulations. Board members raised concerns about potential unintended consequences and agreed to develop real-world examples to present at Town Meeting to clarify the structure and building definitions.

The amendments will appear on the warrant for a Special Town Meeting commencing October 26.
